Mumbai: The 13th edition of the Swami Vivekanand Run (SV Run) is set to take place on Sunday, September 21, in Downtown Powai, with the event kicking off at 5:45 am. The annual run, known for combining fitness with a social cause, continues to draw participation from across age groups and communities, while honouring the legacy of Swami Vivekanand.
This year’s edition will feature three categories — 10 km (timed), 5 km (timed), and 2.5 km (fun run) — making it inclusive for both competitive runners and casual participants. Notably, the 10 km and 5 km timed races will act as qualifiers for major half marathons across India, increasing its appeal among aspiring athletes.

Organisers said the event, apart from promoting fitness and health, serves a larger purpose by spreading awareness about the teachings of Swami Vivekanand and supporting various charitable and social initiatives. “Every year, the SV Run unites people in the spirit of self-improvement and service to society,” said one of the organisers.
The event is backed by prominent sponsors including Vakrangee, Hiranandani Group, SM Express, Storia, GHP Group, Beti, and Bisleri. Their support is expected to ensure the smooth execution of the run and add to its growing stature as a premier community event in Powai.
The core organising team—Mahesh Sharma, Jayant, Deepti, and Girish—will be overseeing the coordination efforts, engaging with participants, volunteers, and sponsors to ensure a seamless experience.

With strong turnout expected from Powai residents and neighbouring areas, the run is once again poised to celebrate health, unity, and the timeless values espoused by Swami Vivekanand.
