Powai, Mumbai | Local News:
Reaffirming its commitment to environmental sustainability, Tata Power organised a post-Durga Puja cleanliness drive at Powai Lake, addressing the growing concern of plastic waste left behind after festive celebrations.
As part of its annual initiative following Ganesh Visarjan and Durga Puja, Tata Power’s Climate Crew Champions led the clean-up operation around the lake premises. The drive aims to protect community water bodies and promote responsible waste disposal.
Over 50 Volunteers Participate
This year, more than 50 Tata Power volunteers actively took part in the cleanliness drive, successfully collecting over 250 kilograms of plastic waste from the Powai Lake area. The effort significantly contributed to restoring cleanliness and preventing further environmental damage to the lake ecosystem.
Awareness on Waste Management and Composting
Following the clean-up activity, Tata Power organised an interactive awareness session on waste management and composting for its employees. The session focused on sustainable waste practices and encouraged participants to adopt eco-friendly habits in their everyday lives.
Commitment to Environmental Responsibility
The initiative highlighted Tata Power’s continued commitment to environmental stewardship, community well-being, and sustainable development. By engaging employees and volunteers in on-ground action, the company aims to create long-term awareness about protecting natural resources.
