On Sunday, 11th August 2024, the Bharat Vikas Parishad Jija Mata Powai Chandivali Branch successfully hosted the National Group Song Competition at Nahar International School, Chandivali. The event saw enthusiastic participation from students representing 19 schools, all eager to showcase their talent and love for the country.
The competition aimed to promote patriotism and Indian culture among school children, fostering a sense of love and pride for India. The program commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp, followed by a powerful rendition of the entire "Vande Mataram." Students performed a variety of patriotic songs in Hindi and Sanskrit, along with folk songs from different Indian states, reflecting the rich diversity of Indian music.
The event was honored by the presence of Chandivali MLA, Mr. Dilip Mama Lande. ACP Bharat Suryavanshi and his wife, Mrs. Swati, were also in attendance, expressing their appreciation for the efforts put into the event. Renowned writer and panelist Mr. Ratan Sharda, accompanied by Mrs. Shyama Sharda, industrialist Mr. K.K. Agarwal, and Mr. Kamal, were among the notable guests who graced the occasion.
Several dignitaries from the Bharat Vikas Parishad attended the event, including West Region Joint Secretary Mr. Mahesh Sharma, Regional Secretary, Seva, Mrs. Deepti Choudhary, Regional Sampark Secretary Mr. Rajendra Inani, Konkan Prant President Mr. Seemant Pradhan, and Konkan Prant Secretary Mr. Nitin Kanitkar.
The inaugural session was beautifully anchored by Mrs. Akshu Sharma, after which the program was efficiently conducted by two NGSC Conveners of the Powai Chandivali Branch.
In a competitive showcase of talent, S.M. Shetty School secured the first position, earning a spot in the state-level competition.
The Bharat Vikas Parishad Powai Chandivali Branch expressed gratitude to the school management for their support of the sanskar program and for encouraging student participation. President Mrs. Kiran Kumavat, Secretary Mrs. Akshu Sharma, and Treasurer Mrs. Saroj Gupta extended their heartfelt thanks to all attendees for making time to join this inspiring event.
