Shiv Sena Intensifies Anti-Drug Drive in Powai; Police Patrol Teams Deployed

Shiv Sena has ramped up its anti-drug campaign in Powai, addressing growing concerns over substance abuse and the sale of intoxicating substances, particularly among the youth. The initiative follows multiple complaints from residents, supported by photographic evidence of drug consumption and sales in public areas.



Targeted Inspection Across Powai Hotspots



Shiv Sena activists conducted field inspections across key locations reportedly vulnerable to drug-related activities. These included Hanuman Road, Garib Nagar slum area, open grounds near Livo Church, Indira Nagar, Durgadevi Sharma Garden, Hanuman Temple, Gyan Mandir School, and Gautam Nagar.


Residents voiced serious concerns over the impact of drug use on local youth, highlighting the urgent need for intervention. Shiv Sena workers formally submitted complaints to Powai Police Station, demanding immediate action against those involved in illegal narcotics.



Police Act Swiftly to Ensure Safety



Responding promptly, Senior Police Inspector Jitendra Sonawane deployed patrol teams to monitor identified hotspots and prevent further illegal activity. The joint effort between Shiv Sena and Powai Police aims to curb drug abuse and safeguard community safety.



Community Leaders Speak Out



Shiv Sena leaders emphasized that drug addiction is a growing threat in Powai, affecting the social fabric and safety of the area. They assured residents that strict action would be taken against offenders, and future information on drug sales or consumption would be immediately acted upon in coordination with the police.


The inspection drive saw active participation from Shiv Sainiks including Nilesh Salunke, Nitin Bhosale, Mahesh Gunjur, Narayan Sakhdeve, Rakesh Patil, Hemant Patil, Vijay Kudke, Sunil Sakhdeve, and several other party members. Shiv Sena confirmed that regular joint inspections with police patrols will continue to ensure Powai remains free from the menace of drugs.
